Our review

Bola AI makes voice tools for dentists and hygienists. Voice Perio lets a hygienist chart periodontal measurements hands-free, Voice Restorative charts existing and planned work, and AI Scribe turns spoken notes into structured clinical notes. All three write directly into the practice management system.

Bola lists native integrations with Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Curve and Fuse. Patterson sells Bola as an Eaglesoft add-on, and Bola powers the built-in voice features in Open Dental and Curve. The company says more than 10,000 dentists and hygienists use it. It offers BAAs and helps with setup and training.

Who it's for: practices that want faster, single-person perio charting and cleaner notes without switching PMS.

Watch-outs: pricing isn't published. Imaging and PMS vendors (Overjet, Pearl, Videa, Dentrix Ascend) now offer their own voice notes, so check whether you already have access before buying. Good microphones matter.
