Our review

Sikka has spent more than two decades as the data layer inside the software that dental and veterinary practices run on. Its ONE API gives developers read and write access to more than 400 practice management systems through a single data model, and the company says it connects 47,000+ practices and handles over 4 million API calls a day.

On top of that foundation, Sikka now sells Self-Driving Practice, AI that runs front-office tasks such as posting patient payments, and practice analytics. It also licenses de-identified healthcare data to AI developers. Sikka cites SOC 2 and HIPAA controls.

Who it's for: groups that want analytics and automation across mixed PMSs, and vendors building dental software.

Watch-outs: it's primarily a platform, so practice-facing features may feel less polished than dedicated analytics tools. Ask how your practice's data is used, including any de-identified data licensing, and get it in writing.
